Schleim // Mucus
In addition to many undesirable effects of our urban life, there are also positive developments that can only unfold as a result. Medical research, targeted early detection measures and highly personalized medicine, as practiced in large cities, have contributed to successes in recent decades, particularly in tumor therapy.
The image “Schleim” (mucus) shows what the remains of a successfully treated tumor can look like. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy is often carried out before surgery to improve treatment. In some cases, this therapy is so successful that the tumor regresses completely. All that remains is a scar or, as in this case, mucus.
